USTORM is here!

The youth charity USTORM launched the new website today and I'm so proud to be a part of it!
Nice job, Keith Portman and USTORM co-founder, Barry Brown on the site. Nice job to me on writing some of the articles under "News."
The next issue of the newsletter, "USTORM Is Here!" will be out in December and we are looking for writers to contribute by December 20th (in time for December 30th at their annual raffle at the Aragon Ballroom during the Umphrey's McGee concert). Preferably, a few good reporters will send in some articles about the Brendan Bayliss & Jake Cinninger 7th Annual Acoustic Holiday Concert!

so this is what David Lynch has been up to
This looks like it could be the best weekend EVER in life. Wish I could go.
Also, if I had a doppelganger, I would send her off on this weekend with money she made selling herself to very attractive, sexually electric, rich and brilliant artists or executives. Then, we would do a little brain fusion when she got back to implant in my own brain the incredible memory of having 'this experience' even though I will have been typing away during NaNoWriMo while she was off shooting the shit with some of the country's most outstanding creative minds.

matt jones
I like when music I stumble upon and like flies under the radar, such as Matt Jones.
I have no idea who this guy is, have never seen him, but I kinda wish I had his music in my pocket right now.
Sort of spindly folky guitars, off-set with bold strings building up into crescendo-driven Americana, lead by a Buckley-ish voice. Even a squeeze box in there somewhere, sometimes. Think Sufjan Stevens...but not.

not beyonce.
"Whale Song" for Modest Mouse from Bent Image Lab on Vimeo.
I hate to cross blogs, but boingboing just pointed this out to me. What an amazing little tale. The concept of it reminds me of Björk's Bachelorette a little bit (the artist, the process, the machine). Oh, and I really do love No One's First And You're Next.

going to the movies.
I don't understand how some people still get their undies in a bunch when someone says he/she's going to a movie alone. It's like we, lone movie-goers, are from another planet or something. I have always gone to movies alone and I don't know why some people feel the need to express how befuddled they are when they hear that another human being can venture into public alone and actually like it.I'm going to see Where The Wild Things Are tomorrow. Alone. ::GASP!!:: Oh, woe is me!
